I made this little matchbox calendar for my little granddaughter....Ellie. It is filled with Santa chocolates...foil wrapped Teddy Grahams and little Hershey chocolate bars. I used this tutorial to make this project. Thanks for the great tutorial Tanja

I don't normally add faces to my magnolia's but Ellie knows all about noses, eyes and ears..ect. I thought it would be a good idea to add them for her.

Here is a photo of Buddy and Chewbacca (my sons fur kid). See that evil look?? suits his name..LOL.

Last but definitely not least!! a photo of our Sweet grand daughter Ellie. I thought it was perfect to include at the end. She is 17 months in the photo. She's a real firecracker... into everything and we just Love Her 2Bits!!!

Christmas Kards for Kids!!

I planned to have this post out a lot sooner but life has been keeping me pretty busy. Anyway....here are the cards I made for Kards for Kids....

Above are a couple of covered notepads...very easy and inexpensive to make.

The weather here is pretty cool....winter arrived early this year. Our little granddaughter is here for the night and we had lots of fun pulling her around in the sleigh this afternoon. She loved it!! I think she could have ridden all day...Grandma and Grandpa tuckered out first...LOL.

Kards for Kids

Awhile back I was ask by Bela if I would like to join in making Kards for Kids. These are cards for Toronto's Hospital for Sick Children. Bela hosts the card drives...and takes them to the hospital.

This is a very low stress commitment...as there is no set # of cards and they can be almost any type. The only requirement is that they do not contain embellishments such as buttons, brads, flowers as they may cause a choking hazard. Use paper products and stickles only. So they can be quite simple which is really very nice!!

You can check out the Kards for Kids site here. Right now Bela is having a call for Christmas Cards. I recently sent in some Halloween and Christmas cards. These are the Halloween cards.

Sorry about the last pic...a little blurry. As you can see many of the images are High Hopes. HH stamps are so perfect for this. I also used a cute little Magnolia witch. I really enjoyed making these cards and will share the Christmas with you in the near future.

I'm hoping to have time to visit soon...and possibly share a few photos of our recent holidays.

I've had this little Easter Tilda for ages and just finally inked her up. I am entering this card in the Magnolia-licious Easter-Spring Extravaganza Contest

The card above is one of my Dt cards and is for the April challenge at the One Crazy Stamper Challenge Blog which is "Flowers". Hi All...I'm still alive! I have a quick Birthday card to show you. I made it for a fella with a great sense of humor. Although I kept it simple by not having a background layer...I was inspired by last weeks 182 Mojo Sketch.

I am posting the inside as well so you can read the fun poem. The Cute stamps are both from High Hopes. The sentiment is from Our Craft Lounge.

The fabulous baker's twine used on this card I purchased from Monika at M.A.D Stamper. (great service and price!!)

To color the froggy I used copics for base only...prismacolor pencils (oms)..and h20's on top.

Ink - Memento black, bashful blue, vintage photo. Paper - GP, SU, assorted scraps. Accessories - baker's twine, brown bauble, stitching. The little tag I cut with my Cuttlebug.

So much for Spring here...all we have been getting is snow, snow and more snow. We're for casted to have a lovely summer though.... Sounds like even the weather man has given up on spring here..lol.

The Challenge this week at High Hopes Blog is Female Birthday. The challenges are now bi weekly and there is still 1 week left of this one. Every 2nd week one of the High Hopes designers also posts a Fabulous tutorial....be sure to check it out.

Who wouldn't want a flower from this Happy little High Hopes fella? His name is Leapin' Larry. He was created by artist Laurie Furnell

The sketch I've used for this card is from the Basic Grey Challenge 38. The papers I've used are BG's "Green at Heart" Collection

I've colored this image using copics for base, prismacolor pencils, and h20's to deepen the shade and give it a little sparkle.

The glittered flower is attached with foam pop ups. I cut the frog out and glued him onto the spellbinders oval so I could tilt him a little. The sentiment is from one of my Stampin Up sets...(sorry can't remember which one)

Ink - momento black, bashful blue, creamy caramel, close to cocoa. Paper - GP, treasures cs, basic grey "Green at heart". Accessories - lace, binders cord, ribbon, button, dew drops, stitching, stitckles, glitter.

We are still living in a deep freeze. An early spring is not in the forecast for us this year. It is nice to see more daylight hrs though. That in itself makes a person feel pretty dang good!!

Ahoy! Pirate Card - Magnolia

This is one of the cards published in the Fairy tale Spring Edition 2010 of Magnolia Ink. I know that is a long time ago....but I recently realized I haven't posted it on my blog.

Here is a list of the stamps I've used on this card...All from Magnolia of course!! LZ09 Ocean Bakground - VA07 Sjorovar banner2 - VA07 Edwin som pirat - VA07 Edwins Doskalle - S007 Skepp - HV08 Stock.

The images are colored with copics (base only), prismacolor pencils (oms) and h20's to deepen the shade.

The ocean background stamp is simply over stamped with the pirate ship. The flowers, leaves and cord are from Magnolia. Edwin is glued to the log...and attached to the front corner with foam dimensionals.

The weather here has been frightfully cold to say the least!! It is suppose to warm up at the end of the week...I'm keeping my fingers crossed. We have an unreal amount of snow as well...with more in the forecast..as it is...no one knows where to put it anymore...lol.

I created this card using the sketch at Crazy4Challenges C4C66. I am late for the challenge but I enjoyed using this fabulous sketch.

I've used another High Hopes Cutie here. These gingerbread sweeties are another design created by Laurie Furnell

The image is colored with copics as a base...and then prismacolor pencils on top. I used a few h20's to deepen the shading.

I received the circle stamp from my good friend Dorte..and don't know where it is from. I used a flower nestie underneath it.

Ink - memento ink, barely banana, creamy caramel, olive, vintage photo. Paper - Georgia pacific, bazzil kraft, The patterned paper is Daisy D from my older stash.......actually my hoarded paper stash...lol. I decided its time to start using these Gorgeous papers. Accessories - white paint, glitter, glossy accents, gold embossing, candy cane brad, pearl bling, ribbon, MS border punch, stitching and snowflake punch.

We are right in the middle of a snow storm. Lots of snow and wind. It feels very good to be inside right now and Buddy does his business outside super fast...lol.

Well they are kind of Vintage looking...aren't they?...and for sure this High Hopes snowman is Cute! I just love making tags lately!!

Lots of glitter and gold embossing. Glossy accents on the carrot noses.

Even a couple pieces of paper doilies. These little snowmen ...again created by High Hopes artist Laurie Furnell are fast and easy to color using prismacolor pencils and H20's.

I'm betting everyone is very super busy. I haven't started any baking yet....or wrapped any presents. But it is all on my list of to do's. I had better get a move on.

Xmas Tags!!!..High Hopes Cuties!!

I've managed to find some time to create some special Xmas tags. I couldn't resist using these Cute High Hopes stamps. The designs were created by Laurie Furnell ..one of the Fabulous new High Hopes artists. After the tags are used on a special gift...I am thinking they could be added to a scrapbook page as a keepsake...or even hung as an ornament on a tree. They sure were fun to make! I've added Shiny White Scribblers for the icing and topped it with some fine glitter. The berries are covered with Glossy Accents.

The to and from are a SU stamp I had hanging around.

Lots of glitter, gold stickles and glossy accents on the snowmen as well.

All the images were colored with copics as a base...and then prismacolor pencils on top. I used a few h20's to deepen the shading.

I have shocked myself....it is one thing for me to have 1 card...but 2??? I tell ya' these little High Hopes Halloween images are just the Cutest and I've so enjoyed playing with them. The above card is a Tent card...(tent cards are one of my favorite to make). The images are from High Hopes created by one of their new fabulous artists Laurie Furnell. The stamps I have used on this card are - Boo Family in Frame, The Boo Crew sentiment, Pumpkin Treat and Happy Halloween sentiment. The fence is a Martha Stewart punch. The High Hopes images on this card are - Boo Crew in Frame, Happy Halloween sentiment and Broom. Another Martha Stewart punch for the fence. I've colored all the images with copic markers as a base only..prismacolor pencils and h20's. Please remember not to use copics over prismacolor pencils as the copic tips will be ruined. The patterned papers are My Minds Eye and Basic Gray. If you have any questions ...feel free to ask!! We have just had our first winter storm of the season. It started the night before last. What a mess!!....over 15 cm of snow...low temps and a horrible wind. It is just starting to clear up now...and Hubby is outside shoveling. Looks like it may take a few days to leave...I say it will leave and hubby says it won't. I sure hope I'm right..lol. I'll be back to wish a Happy Halloween. Wow!!...Thanks so much Y'all for visiting and all your Lovely comments!! I am making my way around to visit everyone...so I should be coming around soon...if I haven't been there yet. I can't get over all the Gorgeous Halloween and Xmas creations everyone is making!!! This last Saturday we babysat our little grand daughter Ellie...(short for Elisabeth). What fun we had...she was so good.. all smiles and chuckles. She has her own special language going on right now too....and it is Super Cute!! Can hardly wait to see her in between visits!! On to my card.... This is my first Easel Card!!! I've always so admired everyone else's and decided it was time to try one. What a fun card to make!! I'm entering it into the High Hopes Challenge which is a recipe this week...1 circle, 2 squares and a scalloped edge. Since.... Stamp with Fun and Magical Monday Challenges are Halloween themed...I'm entering there too!!

I've used High Hopes Fabulous Stamps on this card from their Newest Release..."Witchy Poo Stirring Brew", the bat from "Batty Boo" and "Trick or Treat Greeting"

I've colored the images with copics for a base, prismacolor pencils (oms) and twinkling h20's. As always..remember...never use copics over prismacolor pencils..or tips will be ruined!!

The DP is from last years Halloween Recollections. The punched borders are MS punches.

Hello and Spooky High Hopes Luminaries!!

Happy Belated Thanksgiving!!!

I can hardly believe myself how long I have been away from blogging...I have to wonder who ever said life slows down on Retirement?? It seems like we have been busier than ever!!

We just got back from a very long trip a few weeks ago. We travelled in our old RV through the US to Niagara Falls ON. Then back again slowly travelling through the US again.... New York, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Iowa, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and North Dakota. We had a Fabulous time.

There were many high lights of our trip...and I have to share a few of the very special ones....
While we were in Petrolia Ontario (on route to Niagara Falls)..I stopped in at a Fabulous little store called The Towne Scrapper and met Phebe ...who I have known for ages..online. In fact she sold me my very first Magnolia stamps! What a lovely gal! Not only did we have a nice visit I got some great deals...and she sent me off with warm hug and a pkg of gorgeous flowers. Thank you so much Phebe!!

While visiting Phebe also told me Tina from High Hopes lived close by...kindly gave me a phone # and said that I shouldn't leave without giving Tina a call. I couldn't resist a chance to meet Tina and Bethany so I gave Tina a call...and she insisted we drop in for a visit. Oh Wow...what a Wonderful visit!! My husband and I both enjoyed it! Not only is Tina a kind and lovely person...she has a fabulous family as well. In fact her hubby works at the same railroad my hubby just retired from. I don't think there was ever even a lull in conversation. It was truly a highlight of our trip. And..oh my Gosh...I was sent off with more warm hugs....and a bag of the most fabulous new High Hopes stamps!! We would so love to visit with them again...and are hoping they will grace us with a visit if they ever come holidaying this way.

Now on to show you a few projects I've made using a few of these new High Hopes Stamps. The talented artist that created these Cute and Fabulous stamps is Laurie Furnell. I used a Splitcoast tutorial to make these luminaries. You can find the tutorial right here. Battery operated tea lights are used inside for lights. Please be careful...regular candles would not be safe to use in these boxes.

The images I've used on the above box are "Boo Family in Frame" and "Batty Boo"

For the sides and back I just glued on little bats. I used a Martha Stewart punch for the bats and the web trim.

This little box is triangular..using only 3 coaster to create it instead of 4. The stamps I used are "Silly Spider" and "Angel Bear Ghost Costume"

The stars punched out of glitter paper. The candy corn just cut out of designer paper.

All the images are colored with copic markers as a base only..prismacolor pencils and h20's. Please remember not to use copics over prismacolor pencils as the copic tips will be ruined.

Here She Is!!

Thank you again all so much for your thoughts and prayers. I got permission to show you a photo of this little Sweetie. This photo was taken just a few hours after she was born. Elisabeth continues to do well. The heart murmur she was born with is gone. Her collar bone is healing nicely. She is still having a bit of trouble getting rid of jaundice and is continuously going in for tests...but hopefully soon that will be cleared up too. Did you notice her second name?????...I am totally Tickled Pink that it is Ila!!!! She is So Sweet!!. We spent a few days at my daughters place helping out. Now we are just going in and out to see her and help if needed be. The only live in the next city which is only 25 minutes away...but I have to admit...I wish they lived even closer!!...like next door..lol..but I suppose most grandparents feel the same way. Little Elisabeth is doing well...and will be on her way home soon!! She was born with a broken collar bone (healing nicely) and a not so rare baby heart defect which has been checked out and will go away by itself. Thank You ...Thank You all So Much !!for your prayers and support!!...You are all So Wonderful!!!!...it was so comforting to have you kind and loving people praying for her from all over the world!! Hello Everyone.... I have a little something to ask all of you. We became grandparents to the most beautiful little girl in May. She is experiencing some health problems at the moment. Here is one of the cards published in the Fairy tale Spring Edition of Magnolia Ink. It has been a while since I made this card...but I will try to list what I can. The stamps used are as follows... CC09 Happy Birthday VA07 Edwin some pirate VA07 Sjorovar banner VA07 Mini Doskaller HW09 So Spooky Label Ink - memento, bashful blue, creamy caramel. Paper - GP, Su Kraft, Basic Grey. Accessories - brads and charm (Magnolia), glitter on wings, raffia, ribbon, metal clip, bling star, button, floss, gold embossing and stitching. Color tools - Copic markers (for skin), Prismacolor pencils, Mona Lisa odorless mineral spirits, Twinkling h20's to deepen the shade and add glimmer. Delta Acrylic white paint for detail dots I stamped a skull on the little pirates shirt. I also embossed a little bit of gold on the edges of the sentiment. The pirate is popped up on foamy's. Hi Everyone.... Just dropping in to wish you all a Happy Easter and Thank you all for your Lovely comments and well wishes. You are all Totally Wonderful!!! Hello Everyone....

I'm going to be MIA for awhile....I am taking a well needed Blog Break. Nothing serious going on. Life is just going in a different direction for awhile. I have resigned from my Design Teams and want to Thank both "Magnolia" and "Motivet" for having me on their teams. They have both been Wonderful to me...and it has been a Great Experience to design for them.

I also want to Thank all of you for visiting my humble blog. Your wonderful comments and support these last few years have always given me a happy heart. I don't want to sound too dramatic here though as I may be back from time to time to update.

Paper: - Card stock - Bazill (green, golden brown red scrap for MS punched leaves), Georgia Pacific (white), Patterned Paper - Magnolia (red), Basic Grey Figgy Pudding (green). Light brown - the Paper Studio Ink: - Memento black, Stampin' Up - barely banana, bordering blue, marigold morning, creamy caramel, cranberry crisp. Accents and Accessories: - Maya road chipboard snowflake, Martha Stewart - leaf punch, snowflake punch, star border punch, snow and fine glitter, American crafts - star button. Spellbinders snowflake die, Atyou Spica Pens, Scribbles 3d paint. Magnolia - Ribbon, raffia and lace, Stampin' Up gold cord, Sewing, Dollarama Crafts - metal believe charm. Color tools - Copic markers (for skin), Prismacolor pencils, Mona Lisa odorless mineral spirits, Twinkling h20's to deepen the shade and add glimmer. Delta Acrylic white paint for detail dots. Finished card is 6x6" I used a soft dry brush and bordering blue to create the background. Dots of acrylic white paint was used to create the falling snow (thinned a little with water). The Cute Motivet stamp I used for this card is called "Morris on skates" and you can find him right here. I think this little fella is just the Cutest....and would be great for a hockey player, (birthday), coach or congratulations on someone making a team.

The sentiment was made with a Label Maker. I drew and cut out the stars and used a paint brush and white acrylic paint to make the #1....very easy!!

Ink - memento black, bashful blue. Papers - GP white, bazill, me & my big ideas, basic grey. Accessories - brads, string, eyelets, label maker, acrylic white paint, glitter, stitching.

It has finally warmed up here a little. We manged to go for a walk yesterday and today! The weather for the rest of the week looks good too!!...Yay!!..

I couldn't help but use this older but favorite Motivet stamp for this sketch. She just fits for perfectly!! This cute stamp is called "Doraline with ladybug"

The image is colored with copics under the prismacolor pencils and a touch h20's to deepen the shade and add a little sparkle. *(Please remember.....do not use copics over prismacolor pencils or the wax from the pencils will ruin your copic tips!)*

There is glitter on Doraline's collar, cuffs, tiny flowers and the white button heart. I've used Shimmerz on the larger flowers. I also got a chance to use my lovely MS heart punch..(what a lovely punch!)... The sentiment is cut from an SU stamp set.

Ink - memento black, bordering blue. Papers - GP white, Treasures, Basic Grey Bittersweet, dcwv. Accessories - flowers, roses (from my good friend Tina), ribbons, button, pearls, glitter, embroidery floss, tulle, angle wings shimmerz, stitching.

It has been freezing cold here....our usual January weather. It is suppose to warm up by the weekend...but we'll see. Most of our long range forecasts are just something hopeful to look forward too...but ya' never know.

Even though I am too late for the last Motivet # 51 Sketch Challenge..this card is totally inspired by that Fabulous sketch.

The lovely traditional Motivet image I used for this card is called "Santa in chimney" Right now Motivet is having a Spectacular Sale.....25 % off on this and all their images!!

I used versamark and gold embossing powder to heat emboss on the corners of the image and sentiment. The sentiment "happy holidays" is from hero arts.

Ink - memento black, barely banana, creamy caramel. Papers - GP white, Treasures, Basic Grey, Fancy Pants. Accessories - flowers, brads, gold embossing powder, stickles, paper doily, lace (a lovely from Tina - Thank you!!), snowflakes, holly, scribbles, glitter, stitching.

I hope everyone had a Wonderful Christmas! and is enjoying the holidays!! We had lots of good company and food!. It is very out here...We are going to settle in for a quiet New Years...maybe watch a movie and nibble on some crackers, cheese and leftover fruitcake...Yum!!

Twas the night before Christmas and Buddy had heard that a big jolly fellow...would be invading his turf! He'd be listening and waitin'..crouched low in his bed And if this fella was comin'..He'd wake up the dead!! Christmas eve finally came...Buddy lifted his head.. He heard bumps and grunts..and leaped out of bed. That big Guy was here.. of that was a fact! He looked jolly and friendly and carried a sack! Buddy was speechless!....he did not attack!!.. With his tail a wagglin'..he rolled on his back!! "I'm not much of a watch dog"... Little Buddy admits... but .."Woof!!".. "Santa sure gives good belly rubs..and bully bone sticks!!"

I'm still alive .....I've had the flu for a good week but I'm on the mend now. Christmas has come way too fast for me this year and I am very behind. There is still so much to do....so I may be MIA here and there.

The cards I have here are quick cards that I made in Oct for my Mother for her birthday. She loves to give out handmade Christmas cards...and since she is living in a home it seemed like a good gift. Trina (my daughter) and I joined forces to make her a # of cards. I will show a few more I made in the next while. This little dog...reminds me of my son's little dog Chewbacca....you can see his photo here

The quickest thing about these cards is that they are made from My Minds Eye Christmas Card Pack....(50 pre-folded cards - textured heavy - printed CS). Last year Trina and I both bought a box at Hobby Lobby 1/2 price. Couldn't beat that!..LOL. Now...did I get my Christmas cards made this year?...Nope!.....oh well.....maybe next year. I finally got this card done for another Fabulous Sketch Challenge at Motivet. Be sure to check out all DT's Gorgeous cards at the Motivet Inspiration Blog...join in to win some fabulous stamps!!

The Beautiful traditional stamp I used on this card is from Motivet and is called, "Children around Christmas Tree" The sentiment is High Hopes.

Although it is hard to see ...the white flower and sentiment paper is very shimmery. I sprayed snowflake glimmer mist on both...it really looks very pretty. I added glitter to the tree and gold stickles to the edges of the sentiment and white flower.

Ink - memento black, barely banana, creamy caramel. Papers - GP white, Treasures, Michael's, K&C. Accessories - flowers, brads, nesties, pearls, gold cord, ribbon, stickles, paper doily, stitching.

We still don't have snow...so are enjoying going for a walk in the morning and evening. Today hubby started putting up our Christmas lights outside..and if all goes well this week I'm hoping to have our tree up by the end of the week. It feels a little funny with no snow ...but I could get used to that real easy..lol....

I used two Fabulous Motivet stamps on this card...."Boy Building a Snowman" and the sentiment "Holiday Greetings"

A first for me....I've used polar white flower soft on the snow and pom pom of the boys hat. The snowman has a light sprinkle of reg glitter. The large snowflake is made of chipboard...the smaller brown snowflake is just made from a cereal box...using a sizzix snowflake die. Both snowflakes are covered with SU creamy caramel ink and MS snow. I've sprayed the sentiment and white snowflakes with tattered angels glitter mist.

Ink - memento black, creamy caramel, bordering blue. Papers - GP white, dcwv, BG Eskimo Kisses I received from Petra. Accessories - SU Scallop punch, snowflakes, glitter, flower soft, brads, raffia, lace, MS and EK success snowflake punches. The pretty snowflake charm is available at Stamp and Create online store.

The weather here is still pretty nice...A few snow flurries today...but not enough to even cover the ground. I'm off now to watch a christmas movie with hubby called...."Four Christmases".

Hello Everyone...I'm still here!! Life has been very busy. We had a houseful over the weekend...celebrating Hubby's retirement...lots of Fun!!. Yesterday we were in the city (4 hrs away) visiting my Mother. Her 91st birthday is on Friday. It was so nice to see her...and she is looking well. We also really enjoyed being able to make this trip during the week instead of on the busy weekend.

The weather has been just Wonderful. We still don't have any snow...Amazing!!..and this afternoon we were outside without coats!! It looks like it may even continue for a bit!!

Onto the card....I actually made this card in September. The beautiful flowers are from Magnolia. This Lovely Tilda stamp is - HV08 Tilda with Wood Basket (Winter Collection 2008), HV08 Ticket - A Merry Christmas (Christmas Collection 2008)

I used Martha Stewart snow on the ground. Glitter on the wings and dress. The snowflake is cut from white glitter paper with a Cuttle bug die.

Paper: - Cardstock - Magnolia (green, gold) Bazill (red, light green for ticket), Georgia Pacific (white), Patterned Paper - K&Company - Christmas Cheer, Best Occasions - white glitter paper. Ink: - Memento black, Stampin' Up - creamy caramel, barely banana, cranberry crisp. Accessories: - Cuttlebug snowflake die, Martha Stewart leaf punch. Martha Stewart snow and fine glitter, Sewing machine - stitching. Prima holly leaves, Magnolia - glittered poinsettias and lace, gold eyelet, jute string, tiny rhinestone flowers on background.

I made this card for the Just Magnolia challenge...which is distressing...I love distressing so this was pretty easy for me. I also used the fabulous sketch from StampArtic ...looks like I may be a little late with this challenge though.

Sad News...and.. A Tree for Henry!

I recently found out from Kerry's Blog that Sarah Anderson’s little 3 year old son Henry passed away from a virus he fell ill with last week.

Lorie Ames has organized a way to donate for a memorial for Henry. Henry loved his local zoo and visited it almost every day in the summer. As a memorial, trees will be planted there in his honor.

Melissa at Pink Cat Studio has created a digital stamp to help raise funds for a tree for Henry. All proceeds from the sale of the digi stamp, minus Paypal costs, will go towards the tree.

"Be Merry" - Magnolia DT

This one of the DT Christmas cards I submitted to Magnolia Ink that wasn't chosen. I used a SU sentiment instead of a Magnolia one ..so it didn't qualify. But...I am so Happy to have 3 of my cards published in the Magazine!!

The Stamps I've used on this card are - HV08 Tilda with Heart Ornament (Christmas Collection 2008), TO08 Santa Bench (Santa Collection 2008), SU sentiment.

I've colored the image with Prismacolor pencils (OMS) and Twinkling h20's to deepen the shade and add a little sparkle, SU close to cocoa marker. Delta Acrylic white paint for detail dots.

For the background around the image...I masked the bench and used a soft brush to add SU barely banana. Tilda is attached with foam popups.

Paper: - Cardstock - Bazill (green, red), Georgia Pacific (white), Basic Grey "Wassail" Ink: - Memento black, SU creamy caramel and barely banana, close to cocoa marker. Accessories: - prima flowers, sparkle brad, lace, Dollarama gold flower, SU gold cord, ribbon and oval punch, Ek success border punch, Martha Stewart fine glitter, stitching.

I have to tell you 5 interesting things about me (which I am running out of)...and pass the award to 5 other people.

1. I'm a night owl.

2. I love Won ton soup....anytime.

3. I make cold press handmade soap...I have for about 8 yrs. I use to sell it as well...but not much at the moment. My soap recipes are registered with Health Canada though to assure they contain safe ingredients.

4. I love to watch movies...but most of the time...I fall asleep....lol..hubby does too.

Autumn Wishes - Motivet DT

This little Doraline with Sunflower is just the Cutest!!...She is one of my favorites...I love Sunflowers!!

The images are colored with copics under the prismacolor pencils and a touch h20's to deepen the shade and add a little sparkle. *(Please remember.....do not use copics over prismacolor pencils or the wax from the pencils will ruin your copic tips!)*

I stamped and extra Sunflower to color and pop on top of Doraline's sunflower for a bit of dimension. I also added a little glitter to her cuffs and collar lace.

DT Magnolia - Spooky Happy Halloween! - Monthly DT Challenge

This DT card is also created for the DT Magnolia Challenge the very talented Camilla has set for this month. Camilla challenges the Magnolia DT members to use at least 3 stamps on a card or creation. Thanks for the fun challenge Camilla!

I used 6 "Magnolia" stamps on this card!! This card was a challenge for me as well because of the size it is. Included in my Magnolia Dt kit was a black card base 8.5" wide x 5.5"height... (21.5 cm wide x 14 cm height). A size a bit out of my comfort zone...so it took a little longer than usual..lol.

The stamps I used are "HV08 Tilda with Spider" - Halloween & Autumn Collection 2008 - "Hoo7 Bat and Hoo7 Iron Fence" - Magnolia's Fall Stamps 2007 - "HW09 Hellbroth - HWo9 Happy Halloween and HW09 Spooky Pumpkin" - all from the new So Spooky Collection 2009.

The colors in the background were just brushed across with a soft brush. Tilda witch, Hellbroth and the bat on the moon are all attached with foam pop ups. The moon, sentiment and pumpkin are glued to the image panel and attached to the back panel with foam popups. The netting is just a tape used for dry walling. The orange fabric on top is cut from a Dollarama fabric Halloween bag. The spider and webs are from dollarama as well. I've added glitter, stickles and shimmerz here and there. The patterned papers are all from Magnolia's So Spooky Collection and can be found at retailers like "the Little Stamp Shoppe"

Ink - memento black, SU - marigold morning, bordering blue, perfect plum, close to cocoa. Papers - GP white, Magnolia, SU old olive. Accessories - raffia, dry wall netting tape, rick rack (magnolia), spider, fabric Halloween bag, glitter, stickles, shimmerz, stitching, MS border punch, acrylic white paint.

I received my Magnolia kit recently and in it was this cute little witch!!....It was very hard to make her spooky........but I love her anyway!!..lol. All the new stamps in the Magnolia Spooky Collection are Fabulous....and are available for order at the Magnolia Webshop.

Heidi at "the Little Stamp Shoppe" has a great selection of the new Spooky Collection as well and the new So Spooky papers!!

I've used 4 Magnolia stamps on this card.....HW09 Flying Witch Tilda, Hw09 Happy Halloween. From the Magnolia Halloween & Autumn Collection 2008 - HVo8 Halloween Pumpkins, The bat is from the Magnolia's Fall Stamps 2007 - H007 BAT

I've stippled the moon with white acrylic paint and Shimmerz in the center. The witch, pumpkin and sentiment have been attached with foam pop ups for dimension.

Ink - memento black, creamy caramel, pumpkin pie. Papers - GP white, Magnolia (So Spooky papers), scraps of cs from Michael's. Accessories - Magnolia flowers, netting, bit of red tulle, stickles, spica pen, foam popups, stitching, shimmerz.

Happy Spooky Friday!!.....I love this Cute little Witch from Motivet!! She makes me smile!!..She is called "Doraline riding a Broom"...and you can find her right here.

Doraline is colored with copics for under prismacolor pencils and a touch h20's to deepen the shade and add a little sparkle. *(Please remember.....do not use copics over prismacolor pencils or the wax from the pencils will ruin your copic tips!)*

I've masked Doraline and used a soft brush to add a yellow glow. The image is attached with foam dots on the scalloped circle. I've used stickles on the buckle of her hat..and stars. The sentiment is just created with my label maker. Martha Stewart punches were used for the leaves.

Ink - memento black, barely banana. Paper - GP White, Treasures and Bazill CS, MME. Accessories - flowers, brads, spellbinders, MS punches, netting, raffia, stickles, stitching.

Thank you all so much for your well wishes concerning my dental nightmares...lol...I am such a baby when it comes to the Dentist!!...but I am well on the mend now.

Holiday Happiness - Ansley's Surprise!!

Sorry I have been slow with posting lately....there has been so many things going on. Today I spent a good deal of the day at the Dentist. I'm still recuperating...lol. It was a good holiday weekend...filled with lots of food and good company!!

The Gorgeous image in this card is called Ansley's Surprise from Wags 'n Whiskers and is a lovely gift from my good friend Lacey. The image was created by Crissy Armstrong inspired by Lacey's daughter Ansley and their fur baby Princess.

I've I colored the image with copics for base, prismacolor pencils and h20's to deepen the shade and add a little sparkle. *(Please remember.....do not use copics over prismacolor pencils or the wax from the pencils will ruin your copic tips!)* Going for the medal in repetition here..lol.

I've put glitter on Ansley's wings, headband and princesses bow. Added dots to the present with a gold sparkle pen and added a little glimmer to the ribbon with a stardust pen...(not very vi sable in the photo). The whole image panel is popped up over the green layer.

Paper - GP white, K&C Christmas, SU always artichoke. Ink - memento black, SU barely banana, creamy caramel. Accessories - Snowflake, flowers, brads, spacer, bling, tulle, MS snowflake punch, ribbon, CB corner.

I made this card for a little girl named Kate....who has a very serious brain tumour. You can read more about it right here Cards for Kate. I found out about this through the very talented Curt at Curt's World....you can see his Gorgeous card for her right here.

I recieved this Sweet little Magnolia from Heidi the owner of "the Little Stamp Shoppe" and it's called Tilda with Kitten..... part of the Magnolia Pet Collection. I also used the ML08 Swing from the Magnolia and Lilac Summer Collection 2008. The sentiment I've used is part of a stamp set I won over a year ago....and is created by Aud...(I love these stamps!!)

Tilda is raised on foam pop ups. I stamped and colored the little kitties head separately and used a pop up to attach it. The sentiment is popped up as well. I only used part of the Magnolia swing...and added little brads and bows to the top of the ropes.

Ink - memento, bashful blue, creamy caramel. Paper - Georgia pacific, k&c wild raspberry, SU CS. Accessories -nesties, felt, flowers, button, embroidery floss, raffia lace, brads, stitching, glitter and shimmerz.

That's it for today....I'm hoping to get another card up soon...but we are going out of town for the weekend...so it's a little iffy. We've only been back from holidays for a weeek..and I have so many things on the burner right now....cards included...lol.

I am actually in time for a couple of challenges with this card....The Fabulous "sketch" at Friday Sketchers and the fun theme being "at the sea" at Stamp with Fun.

The stamps I have used for this card are all from Magnolia's Lazy Summers Day Collection 2009

All these stamps are available right now at "the little Stamp Shop". Here are names of the stamps I've used- "Bathing Ring" - "Beach Tilda" and "You're So Sweet".

Tilda has been masked off so she could sit on the bathing ring. To create the sentiment...I also masked off the adjoining works on the You're So Sweet stamp so I could stamp them out separately...then just tore around them and inked the edges with SU Creamy Caramel ink. I used nesties for the circle and scalloped layer and attached the image circle with foam pop ups onto the scalloped layer. There is shimmerz (Angel wings) brushed on the flowers along the bottom of the image.

Ink - memento black, bashful blue, creamy caramel. Paper - GP white, basic grey "Euphoria", Michael's, bazill cs. Accessories - flowers, lace, glitter brads, shimmerz, ribbon, nesties, stitching, acrylic paint for detail dots.

Today my dear hubby and I have been married for 36 Wonderful years!!....Remember the little "Rock On Honey" card?...well that is the card I gave him for our Anniversary this morning.....and he totally loved it...Yay!! Well I'm off for now....maybe for a little wine...and dine.......

I have to tell ya'.....My hubby took a big liking to this stamp as soon as he saw it. And he is a fella that usually just grunts when I show him anything to do with stamping. I bought him a guitar for his Birthday a little over a yr ago....and he plays that noisemaker everyday!!...lol... I really don't mind....sometimes he even talks me into singing along. The last time Trina was here.....we had a real blast singing while he played....I mean we literally brought the house down!...LOL...the dogs all hid in the other room....my son went home shortly after we began..(or I should probably say...ran home)...and I'm sure a few neighbors may have closed their windows...but it sure was FUN!!.

On to the card......

I made the base just using a plastic bowl container....I folded the CS...and placed the bowl over it (leaving one rounded edge hanging over the folded edge a tad) and drew around it with a pencil. Then I just cut it out. The finished card is approx. 5.25 inches....and will fit perfectly into my 5.5" square envelopes.

I used a label maker for the words. I drew the stars freehand. The image layer and the stars are popped up on foam squares. There is glitter on the guitar.

The last time I saw my daughter Trina...we did a little stamping together (we can't sing all the time..lol)....She loved these little Motivet characters....I understand she already has a card made using one of these Cuties...so keep and eye on her blog...Trina's Timeless Treasures.

P.S....I have been asked in the comment section where I find my lace. I've found some at Joannes fabric...(in the dollar bin)....Walmart..any fabric stores....garage sales.... I've even taken off of old garments. I have also taken apart gathered lace...and ironed it flat. (if you find just the right string...gathered lace will just unravel)...then I use the netting for bows ect.

"Just wanted to tell you"....Motivet

I used last weeks Creative Corner sketch for this card....I am a little late for the challenge....but it was a fun sketch to use anyway!!

Both the stamps on this card are from Motivet....This sweet Doraline is called "Doraline - Sorry" The sentiment is called "I just wanted to say..." I think this little Doraline and this sentiment is so versatile......she looks ready to deliver any greeting....so I will add one later inside the card.

I've colored Doraline with copics first as a base under my prismacolor pencils. I then used h20's to deepen the shade..and add a little sparkle. *(Please remember.....do not use copics over prismacolor pencils or the was from the pencils will ruin your copic tips!)*

Both the nestie panel, Doraline and the main flower is popped up on foam dimensionals. I've also placed one under the center of the sentiment...to raise it. I've used diamond glaze on the bow and shoes ...(can hardly see it in the photo though)

I cut out the pink felt flower with my flower spellbinders die. It worked perfectly!! I discovered a container full of felt sheets I had stored away from my older crafting days....Thank goodness I never threw them out. It really made my day to find them...I tell ya'...lol.

Hi Everyone.....I'm still alive....and almost back to normal. I don't get viruses very often....but lately when I get one....they seem harder to shake...couldn't be age could it?...lol.

I started this card last week.......I used the fabulous sketch Maria created for Stamp With Fun Challenge #16. This card also qualifies for this weeks Stamp With Fun Challenge #17 - which is a Pearl theme.

The Magnolia stamps I've used on this card are......"Tilda with Bunch of Roses" and the sentiment "Especially for you" ....both from the "Chasing Butterflies Collection".

I can't believe it's Friday already!!....I have company coming for the weekend so this post may seem a little short.

The Cute Magnolia stamps I have used on this card are CC09 Spring Tilda, CCo9 Watercan and C09 Dot Butterflies all from the "Chasing Butterflies Collection" ........The "Watercan" and "Spring Tilda" are both available at "the little Stamp Shoppe" The sentiment I've used is part of a stamp set I won over a year ago....and is created by Aud

The Fabulous sketch I've used for this card is the recent SC 237 at "Splitcoaststampers"

I have colored the images with copics for base....prismacolor pencils and a bit of h20's to deepen the shade. I know I am a broken record but...*please remember to only use copics under prismacolor pencils .....never on top or your copic tips may be ruined!*

Tilda is cut out and set on the water can with foam stickies for dimension.....The previous butterfly on the water can is replaced with one of the small Dot Butterflies and is partially glued down so the wings stay up. There is glitter on the flowers, leaves, Tilda's pony tail holders and the edge of the butterfly...but I couldn't capture it in the photo.

I've used nesties for the image...and the watering can is "out of the box" so to speak to keep the image in the center.

Ink- memento black, bashful blue, certainly celery

Paper - Georgia Pacific whit, Bazill CS, Kraft, PP from Magnolia ...Bloom & Grow I believe.

There is a Fabulous sketch challenge going on at the Motivet Inspiration Blog. Join in and you will have a chance to win 5 Motivet stamps of your choice. The challenge runs until July 31th...so there is still lots of time to enter.

Motivet is a Canadian based company. The Cute images Doraline and Dexter are created by a 25 year old very talented artist named Marina who lives in Florida USA.

This is the card I've come up with from their great sketch. The stamp I used from Motivet is called Doraline Surprise ....clicking on her name will take you to her. They've had another recent release.....and it is now possible to order in US currency now.

This card is made for one of my daughters Birthday....It is late...but she told me, I have to make her one anyway...lol. I hope she likes it.

How I colored this image....

I've first based the image with copics (all very light colors)...and then used prismacolor pencils (oms) over them. The copics are a wonderful base....the prismacolor pencils blend like butter over them...and the whole image ends up being just a little brighter. Over this I still like to take my Twinkling h20's and just deepen the shading a tad.

**Be sure though...never to use copics over prismacolor pencils...or you will ruin your tips!!**

A little over a month ago I posted a RAK request for a very ill sister blogger, Deb Golan - "Stampin on the Mountain"

I just recently found out from Rita....that Deb had passed on Monday morning. Deb's daughter Domenica wrote to Allison.....

"...my mom was resting comfortably when she passed away. She will not be having a funeral, as we will have a ceremony with her ashes when we scatter them in Hawaii next summer. She had a fresh Hawaiian lei on with beautiful plumeria flowers and she was surrounded with her 3 daughters. She was an amazing mother, grandmother and stamper. She will be missed."

Many of us too...will miss this Kind and Wonderful Lovely Lady!

This weeks Challenge at the High Hopes Blog is to use scraps...and like everyone else...I have a quite a few. In fact I have a great deal of them...I think I should be doing these types of cards a little more often!! The sketch I used is this weeks Mojo Monday 92...what a great sketch for this image!....or for that matter ...any image...lol!

I made this card for my hubby for Father's Day!...this Fabulous High Hopes image is called "Sweet Dreams". Although I don't have this stamp....Crissy kindly shared the image with me..Thanks Crissy!!

This image so reminds me of my DH.....as he is always napping....lol...He works very hard...and the fella is just so tired when he gets home. Often after he gets home from work we go outside to have coffee on our swing....he leans over puts his head on my shoulder and catches a little nap...So Precious...lol.

The only damper on it all ....is all that darn, "get home laundry"...lol.....oh well....

I have a few birthdays to catch up on....and this card is for a very special gal who just loves squirrels and chipmunks. This Doraline from Motivet rubber stamps is just the Cutest and so perfect for this card. The sentiments are gelatin stamps.

I used one of Bea's Wonderful sketches for this card. Bea not only has a Fabulous blog "Megastamper"....she has a sketch challenge going on with a great prize!!

The patterned paper on this card is Digital....I downloaded it from "Sweet Shoppe Designs" and printed out what I wanted. The Gorgeous kit I downloaded and used here is called Happiness by Zoe Pearn. Zoe has many beautiful kits at Sweet Shoppe Designs and has a fabulous blog called Sweet Nothings.

Onto the card.....The images are colored with copics, prismacolor pencils...and twinkling h20's.

After coloring..I cut out Doraline and the balloon. I stamped celebrate on the balloon, used diamond glaze on the white highlight ovals and went over the remaining part with a stardust pen for a bit of sparkle. I then added a string.

Doraline, the balloon, sentiment and scalloped oval are all popped up on foamy's. I made these cute Lollipop Flowers using a tutorial from the new challenge blog called The Next Level. What a great place.....Lots of neat things going on there!!

The leaves I just cut out by eyeballing and distressed.....The lovely heart pin is from my sweet friend Tina....at Yummy Scrummy Create.
