Oh, such a great candy Ila!

I'd love to participate... Summer reading for me has always been light and funny, and recently I've fallen in love with "The Cat who..." crime-series by Lilian Jackson Braun. Most of them were written in the 60's and are delightfully old fashioned. If you have any liking for cats and/or crime, this series is a must-read!

Added you to my blog candybar and became a follower :)

My favorite stamp right now is one I got used from another blogger it is a Magnolia baby!

Without a paycheck since December new things are out of the question unless I win them! I love the butterfly Magnolias and would also love using them in a few scrapbook pages too! We have pictures in a butterfly garden from Costa Rica from like 4 years ago just waiting for the right stamp. Saw this when they came out and have on my wish list!

Hi Ila, thanks for the chance of getting your lovely candy, and a happy Birthday to you.
I only read when I'm on holiday so the last books I read were Joanne Harris The Lollipop Shoes quite hard to get into but loved it once I got used to the way she writes, she also wrote Chocolat which I loved too. I also read the last Harry Potter love them all, and Dan Brown, read DaVinci Code a couple of years ago, last year read the rest all brilliant, and can read Lord of the Rings over and over again, and anything by Wilber Smith, who's just published a new one I've yet to read. I know I've a strange taste in books.

Take care, Chris xx

Happy Birthday Ila!! I hope you have a wonderful day celebrating your birthday!!! Thank you for offering such a generous blog candy too!!

Interesting that you ask about books because I recently started a book club online.

Okay. . .I'm in the middle of reading Angel & Demons by Dan Brown. . .very fascinating subject and the book flows nicely and it's easy to read. There's a movie coming out on that book. . it's actually the first book written before the Da Vinci Code so it's not really a sequel. Very interesting book.

I just finished the Host by Stephenie Meyer. The same writer as Twilight but it's Stephenie Meyer's first "adult" book. Although, it's a sci-fi/alien fiction, it doesn't read like a sci-fi. It relates more to human emotions and what it is to be human. Again, it's an easy read, first-person perspective of the "alien(soul)-host". It's a great book and I highly recommend it.

I'll be reading "No Time for Goodbye" by Linwood Braclay. It's an interesting subject too. . .this book is a thriller.

Valerie Bertinelli's autobiorgraphy is very interesting. I never knew her life was the way it was. . .gosh, she really had a BAD marriage with Eddie Van Halen. She's very funny and candid.

I read Barack Obama's book "Dreams From My Father". Interesting view of Obama before he got into politics. It's like an autobiography. . .relating stories of his life growing up in Hawaii, college life, politics.

Terry Hatcher's book Burnt Toast. Interesting book about her life . . .she's very funny too.

Gosh, I can go on and on.

Maria

Hi Ila, happy birthday from one taurus to another :)
Your choice of a good book may be different than mine, although I'm a translator I like reading lighter stuff and specially SF-Fantasy. Right now I'm reading Magick, the 1st book from the series Septimus Heap by Angie Sage and I'm loving it. I also liked Eragon by Paolini and his whole trilogy about dragons. My all time favourite is Terry Prattchet though, the Discworld series. And Marion Zimmer Bradley as probably the best SF Fantasy female author ever. Ok, I'll stop now, I could write about books for ages :)
Take care and greetings from Slovenia, Kitty

Ila, hun, what fantastic candy you are giving away! I would love love love to have those Tildas in my collection as they are on my wish list! :) Thank you so VERY much for the chance to win such fabulous candy you are too kind and giving! :)

As for reading....I LOVE to read (of course when I'm not crafting) and my favorite books are the Baxter Series books by Karen Klingsbury! She has numerous series with this same family. The "Redemption" series are the first series. I can't wait until I am done with school so I can start the second series of books by her! They are christian based and are just outstanding! I also love murder mystery books...my favorite authors for those types of books are Mary Higgins Clark and Karen Rose. What types of books do you like to read?

I just finished a Women's Literature class and we read some great books there too! Sula by Toni Morrison was very good. My friend told me to read "A Tree Grows in Brooklyn" by Betty Smith so that may be one to check out too!

Happy Reading hun! Thanks again for the chance to win. I hope you find some great reading material!

I like mystery/suspense books. Favorite authors of mine: Jeffrey Deaver and Patricia Cornwell (the earlier Scarpettas are better than the newer ones IMHO). I also like Tom Clancy a lot. His books are long, some are a little slow to get started as separate little things but then it all ties together and makes for a great read.

What a fabulous candy, thanks for the chance to winn some of those great goodies.

I just finished a book of a Dutch writer called 'KLUUN'. It isn't a very happy book, because it's about a couple who has to fight breastcancer. Klunn lost his wife to cancer and is telling his story.
Had to cry at the end. But is was such a great book. It's also translated into English and is called 'love life'.

And to cheer myself up after finishing the book I created a few cards with my Anya images. They are my favorite stamps at the moment.

Great reading! The books gives you unintentional insight on the times and how people lived and travelled in addition to describing the country as it was then. - So, if you have a favourite place, get some old travel books about it!
