Father's Day Card

I haven't been around the last while because we are on holidays. I just thought I'd drop in for a bit to share the father's day card I made for my hubby. I did not have very much time to make this card with him around. I thought I could work on it a bit while we were out camping.. but no way...I have no idea what I was thinking in that regard....... Anyway I made it and gave it to him yesterday...better a little late than never....right?

We have a few more weeks of holidays and are off to Clear Lake Manitoba Thursday morning. We spent the last week travelling and camping in our Okanogan (it is a old large yellow camper van) We call it "The Beast" because it is such a gas guzzler. We bought "The Beast" a few years ago from my husbands parents. They had it sitting for years in their yard not being used. It was in pretty sad shape cause it leaked through the vents all that time. DH fixed it up with the guidance of a fella he knew that fixed old campers. I made curtains and cushion covers and we have been good to go. I really enjoy going out in it because we can make our own meals in it...simple meals but better for us than eating out all the time......Well enough for now..

Here's the Father's Day Card....

Stamps- Stampin Up...sorry I can't remember the name of the retired set. (got the image from my daughter)

Paper - Michael's, SU Ivory, patterned paper unknown.

Inks - SU close to cocoa, Classic black, Cranberry crisp.

Image is colored with Prisma colored pencils and oderless mineral spirits.

Words are computer generated.

Accents - brads, cord, sakura clear stardust pen.

Thanks for looking and for all the Wonderful Comments!!!

I leave you all with a photo of ... "The Beast" ........Have a Great Day!

Happy Bee-utiful Birthday!!

This is the birthday card I made for Crystal. Her twin sister Kim's card can be found a few posts below or right here.

Crystal makes beautiful cards...and loves to put lovely big flowers on them. She put some of her Mother's Day cards in my son's store and they literally flew out the door.

Crystal likes so many things...old, new, glitz, colors, and flowers. I tried to put a little of these things into her card.

I heard if you take your photos outside they will be beautiful.....so I took the photo of this card outside....in the garden. I also thought it would be nice to have a different photo other than the one I have on my Splitcoast gallery.

Stamps - SU Big Blossom, Stampendous Bees.

Paper - SU whisper white, Basic Grey, Michaels, Costco. DCWV.

Ink - Classic black, close to cocoa, mellow moss, garden green.

Embellishments - Flowers, brad, cuttlebug for background and corner dies. Coluzzle and scissors for scallops. Sewing, glitter and stardust pen.

**Bees are colored with Prismacolor pencils and oderless mineral spirits. Words (sentiments) are done with the computer and printer.

I needed a large envelope for both of these birthday cards. I had to make something up really quick......nothing fancy....but I thought I would show what I did anyway. It would be nice for a masculine card or a little book if one needed an odd size envelope....

It is just a brown bag with the bottom cut off,

I sewed the bottom closed and turned over the top. I actually scalloped the top before turning over. Added jute for a bow.

Thanks for looking everyone and for all your wonderful comments!

Have a Great Day!

Be Happy! Celebrate!

It has been a very rainy week....good for the gardens .......but a little depressing for someone who likes to go for a walk most evenings.

There are 2 birthdays coming up quickly in my family. We have 2 daughters that are turning 27 on Sunday, Crystal and Kimberley. This is the birthday card I made for Kim. She loves bright colors (orange and yellow being 2 of her favs). She is such a "Sweetie" and as bright and cheerful as this card.

Stamps - SU Like it a Latte, It's Your Birthday, Very Puny, Fancy flexible phrases, Amazing to Zany. Stampendous Bee Daisy.

Inks - SU classic black, close to cocoa, creamy caramel. Heart is chalk ink rouge.

Paper - DCWV textured and pocket full of posies. Making memories, SU whisper white, choc chip.

Accents - Flowers, rhinestone, glitter, stickles, ribbon, brad, embossing. Coluzzle was used for all the scallops.

The images are colored with Prismacolor pencils and oderless mineral spirits.

Now I have to get busy working on the another birthday card.

I am not sure my feed is working properly...so if you aren't receiving the updates..please let me know.

Thanks for looking!
