It's time for me to do a post on the Awards and tags I've received....here goes....

I've been tagged by Heather - Andrea and Kim - to - Open the folder "my pictures". In the 6th folder, take the 6th picture and post it on your blog. Write something about the picture.

This photo was taken in June....Chewbacca (Toy Shihtzu)...is my son's dog....Buddy is ours (Bichon/Shihtzu)...and Buster ( Maltese/Shihtzu) belongs to one of my daughters. Buster looks a little evil here...but honestly he's really adorable....it's just a bad hair day or something..lol. Anyway they have all come over to play....and it must be a rainy day....because that yellow towel on the floor is for wet paws.

I have received Awards from many Kind and Talented ladies! I apologize if I have forgot anyone....All these ladies have Fabulous Blogs....you can click on there names to enjoy them. ......................Maria Jesus - Maria Jesus - Viv -
Sue - Mel - Jilly -

Zoe - Risa - Jacqueline - Karen - Donalda - Mel - Jilly - Joey - Jo - Donalda - and the rules to accepting my award are as follows:A) first list 10 honest things about yourself - and make it interesting, even if you have to dig deep!

1. I love to color...I have since I was a child. My mother use to buy me these very small coloring books...They were only around 5x5 inches....around the size of a child's reading book. I use to love these little books and wouldn't allow anyone else to color in them...lol. I still love to look at coloring books....and love the smell of good quality wax crayons.

2. I love any kind med for coloring.....I think I'm kind of addicted to trying everything...I've used oils, acrylics, water colors....pencils....any new thing comes along and I'm always itching to try it!!

3. I dislike when people cut other people off when they are talking...it doesn't matter who it is....I think it is Rude!!

4. Although I can color my images quickly ....when it comes to making a card ...it takes me forever.. I take way too long choosing my papers...etc...

5. I don't like shopping when it the stores are crowded.

6. I am not crazy about pineapple on my pizza ...but put up with it because my family likes it.

7. I can't stand when people drink out of milk cartons......What?...too lazy to get a glass?

8. I hate waking up to dirty dishes. I just don't like seeing them..especially in the morning..being in the dishwasher is fine though

9. Sometimes it seems like this world is being taken over by junk mail and paper flyer's. I hate seeing them lying around all over...especially on the kitchen table!!

10. I use to smoke....I loved smoking .....but I gave it up in around 1988...and now....I'm like a Militant non-smoker...lol.

I'm passing this along to everyone....

Lim - Andrea - Behsan - Rosalien - Camilla - Amy - Ruby - You have to write down five things you are addicted to. 1. stamps.... 2 anything paper crafts..... 3. computer.....4. coffee......5. ice cream

Thank You All for these Wonderful Awards!! I am so pleased and honored that you have all thought of me...and I passing them right back to you lovely people...and to everyone that visits this blog!!

"Enjoy Your Day" - SC Sketch Challenge

This card was made with the SC212 sketch. The fun stamp I've used on this card is from High Hopes and is called - "Party Girl Florence" The sentiment circle is from SU

The Flamingo is colored with prismacolor pencils (oms) and twinking h20's.I've used versamark and embossed the balloons with iridescent ice for sparkle.

The sentiment is embossed with winter white embossing pdr and is popped up along with the balloons for a bit of dimension.

The top accent is just a few pieces of ribbon and beads tied under the button.....I derived this idea from the fabulous ribbon blossom created by Pam Bassett who recently had a fabulous tutorial on SC right here - Ribbon Blossom

Paper: GP white, bazill, basic grey sugared Ink: versafine black, bashful blue, old olive Accessories: dew drops, button, bling, ribbon. iridescent ice, versamark, stitching, stardust pens, labels one die, CB swiss dot folder

Be sure to check out the High Hopes Challenge Blog#15...this week the fun challenge is brought to us by the very talented Janette and is to use hearts on your card. This week's random winner will receive Matchmakin' Maynard and the Light My Fire sentiment!!

Have a Great Day Everyone!! and Thank You for your Wonderful Comments!!

High Hopes Jan "Project of the Month"

There is still time to order High Hopes Jan "Project of the Month" Special. The stamps this month are - T-040 Candi Tooth Fairy 15.00 , D-067 Tooth 5.30 , E-062 Floss 6.00 , F-091 Tooth brush 6.70 and H-127 Tooth Fairy Saying 8.00 .

Purchased together these stamps would regularly be $41.00 CDN mounted but for January they are on sale for 25% off which works out to be $30.75 CDN mounted, $23.10 cling mounted or $15.40 unmounted!!

For this project....I've used all the POTM stamps. Be sure to check out all the Gorgeous creations the Divas have created with these stamps on the High Hopes Blog!

I made this box using the SplitcoastStampers Technique Loving Challenge - TLC203 Origami Box directions which can be found here.

All images are colored with prismacolor pencils (oms) and H20's...You can find a tutorial Here for this method of coloring.

The original Tooth Fairy has a wand in her hand....I cut it away and put a toothbrush in her hand instead....and popped her up on foam dimensionals. I've added glitter to the fairy's wings, bow, toothbrush and the dental floss inside. There is diamond glaze on her little slippers.

I made the little tooth pouches from a tiny envelope template I have. I stamped them with the tooth stamp and used a white gel pen for the little lines.

Papers - GP white, treasures cs, Michael's, autumn leaves, light chipboard from the back a SU paper pad

Ink - versafine black, creamy caramel

Accessories - ribbon, CB swiss dot folder, paper doily, brads, buttons, plastic flowers, embroidery floss, glitter, diamond glaze

It is snowing here right now....and the temperature is reasonable...for this time of year. By tonight though we will be back in a deep freeze.....I now realize that I really don't understand "Global Warming" at all!!!.....but am sure starting to relate with the "Ice Age" here in our part of the country...lol.

"Happy Birthday Hot Stuff"- HHCh#14

Here we are again.....High Hopes Ch#14....and it's a fun one!..Niki wants to see...."Dude Cards". Check out all the Fabulous Dude cards here and if you get a chance ....join in to win some fabulous High Hopes Stamps.

I also made this card for this weeks Cute Card Thursday challenge which is to have a little humor in your card.

On to the card.......

The Cute dragon on this card is from High Hopes and is called "Gavin' The Givin' Dragon"....the balloons are also from High Hopes.....http://www.highhopesstamps.com/

All the images are colored with prismacolor pencils (oms) and H20's

The dragon is is cut out and set pop dots....as is part of the star and ballons. If you look really closely you will see I added a tuft of hair to his head. Just a little bit of cut up fibres....set on a little dot of Tacky Glue.

I stamped the happy birthday on the balloons with the SU stamp set Amazing to Zany....just the perfect size for these balloons...and added embroidery floss for strings.

I used my label maker for the Hot Stuff sentiment...it worked so well and I was so surprised that I could fold it over like this on the corner.

The star I just drew on a piece of basic grey yellow paper...cut it out....and inked the edges with close to cocoa....added the button.

Stamps: High Hopes, SU Amazing to Zany

Paper: georgia pacific, dcwv, basic grey, su kraft

Ink: versafine black, bashful blue, creamy caramel, close to cocoa

Accessories: label maker, CB folder, button, cord, embroidery floss, foam dimensionals, tacky glue

I used a Martha Stewart punch for the border.

Special Request and Buddy Update!!

Tina - (the very kind and generous owner of High Hopes) has a Grandfather that is turning 88 yrs young on Jan 21...Tina's uncle has told her that it would so make her Grandfather smile if he received cards of well wishes from all over.

Here is a little Tina has written to all us Divas about this delightful fella.... "My Grandfather will be turning 88 on Jan. 21 and he has been a bit blue for the last several months. He is a widower and misses my Grandmother and had been dealing with being alone for several years now, however his health is starting to fail him (his mind is as sharp as a tack). He has arthritis in his knees that makes it difficult to walk now so only leaves the house on Wednesday nights to go to his adult writing group ....(a group of older writers...not porn writers...hehehe) ...and my uncle picks him up to take him to his house for Sunday Dinners. He has a pacemaker now, and has been slowing down quite a bit, due to other health complaints. As he told me my last call to him "Well honey, I do not buy anything with a long shelf life anymore but I still feel safe buying a green banana..." hehehe... God Bless Him...

Tina has told us that when her mother was alive she would hand stamp humorous cards for her Grandfather...and that he has always shown interest in what is going on in the stamping world. As far as what type of Birthday card to make him goes.......He sounds very easy to please.... loves fishing and has a great sense of humor..... Tina says, "He would just about love anything".

So if any of you kind people have a little time or maybe a Birthday card on hand and would like to make Tina's grandfathers day....Please email me ..... here......and I will give you his address.

I will be back a little later with my card for Tina's Grandpa.....I was in the process of making it when I got interrupted by some very Good News!!

Buddy's pathology report has come in and the tumor is benign!......it also states that it was taken out so cleanly they doubt that it will come back!!...What a relief!!

Thank you all again So Much ...for your thoughts and prayers....Bless you all!!

Hugs, Ila

"Warm Winter Wishes" - High Hopes Ch#12

High Hopes Challenges are back...and the first Challenge for 2009 is Torn Edges!!...brought to us by the Crissy the Talented artist for High Hopes and the originator of the fabulous images used on this card. Check out the Challenge Blog to join in to win some Cute High Hopes Valentine stamps and to see the Gorgeous creations the Divas have created for this Challenge.

This Santa is a hoot!! ....as you can see by his nose and cheeks....he is getting a little too much sun.....I don't really think he cares though...cause who knows how many of those cocktails he's already enjoyed!!...Haa ha.

I've created this card with my brother and his wife in mind...who are down south for the winter. I didn't have a chance to send them a Christmas card...so I'm hoping these Warm Winter Wishes will make up for it...Although.. with our -50 Celsius windchill warning.....I wonder who should actually be getting the Warm Winter Wishes!!...Lol.

The High Hopes images on this card are "Tropical Santa" and "Palm Tree". The Warm Winter Wishes circle is computer generated.

I colored the images with prismacolor pencils (oms) and H20's.

For my background I've used cloud and the sand looking paper from a DCWV past summer stack.

The palm tree and Santa are partially dimensional ...meaning they are glued to the background at the bottom of the images and have foamy's under the top part of them...so they kind of flow up and out. The legs of the lawn chair are thin so I thought it best to glue them down....kind of makes the lawn chair even more rounded. It's a little hard to capture how it looks in the photo.

The large snowflake behind the sentiment is a Sizzix die. I used scribbles and glitter on Santa's hat...and just glitter on the beard and mustache.

Ink - versafine black

Paper - Georgia Pacific white, dcwv, SU kraft

Accessories - sizzix snowflake die, martha stewart punch, embroidery floss, gold cord, brads, glitter, scribbles

Buddy continues to do well. He's back to playing and running around!

Have a Great Day Everyone!....and Thank you so much for your kind thoughts, prayers and comments!!

Happy New Year!!!..and a few updates...

I'm wishing you all Health, Joy and Happiness!!...Not just alone for the New Year ..but for all times as well!!......................

Thank you all so much my Dear Friends!!... For visiting my humble blog....your comments, kind words and well wishes!!..They are all so Special to me and have helped make the year Wonderful!!

Our Little Buddy...had his surgery on Tuesday morning. He has come through the surgery well. The vet said the tumor came off quite cleanly. The cell mass has been sent in for analysis....so we won't know for awhile (I'm not sure how long) what it is made up of. I have been very busy watching over this little fella....as he should not be licking his incision or get it wet...and since it is on his front leg...it looks very tasty...lol. He gets the stitches out on Jan 8th. My blog posts in the meantime may be even more erratic than usual..lol. I So want to Thank you for all your prayers and well wishes!!.......I am a Strong Believer in the Power of Prayer!

I have one more update to mention....some of you may remember my brother Dana. Who was diagnosed with terminal cancer (3-9months remaining)...in July of 2007. Well since then he has been treated and is doing well!!.....He has a few more treatments in the beginning of Jan. but so far at the moment it looks like the cancer is at a standstill. Here again...I Thank you all for the prayers, well wishes and the Beautiful cards that were sent to him. They truly made him feel Blessed and Wonderful!!!

Now...I have received another Beautiful Christmas card.....this one is from Karin....a good friend from Holland!...The sleigh is full of sparkle and there is a Gorgeous Angel Charm hanging from the flowers...I love it...Thank you so much Karin!!

Well....that is it for now.......Take Care Everyone...and if your travelling.....Drive Safe!!! Hugs, Ila
